Route #496 now provides a bus service to Sanctuary Lakes. The service commences at Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre (opposite China T restaurant), enters Sanctuary Lakes Boulevard, turns left into North Boulevard and continues in a clockwise direction around the Boulevard before returning to Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre (near China T restaurant).
It continues north along Point Cook Road, turns right into Central Avenue to Central Square Shopping Centre, left into Merton Street and terminates during peak times at Laverton Station. In off-peak times, the bus continues to Aircraft Railway Station and the shops and restaurants of Aviation Road. From Laverton Station, passengers can catch a train to continue to Melbourne or can transfer to buses to Altona Meadows, Altona, Williamstown and Footscray. For timetable, click Route #496.
A choice of two north-bound services can be joined on Point Cook Road outside the Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre (near China T restaurant).
As well as the route #496 service described above, route #497 commences at Saltwater Coast and travels north along Point Cook Road, picking up passengers outside the Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre (near China T restaurant). It continues north along Point Cook Road, turns left at Dunnings Road and right Palmers Road. It terminates at the Williams Landing Railway Station bus terminal. Passengers can catch a train at Williams Landing to continue to Melbourne or to Werribee or can transfer to bus #495 to go to Point Cook Town Centre.
A new cross-town service Route #498 provides better access to key services in Wyndham. Route #498 runs from Laverton Station, along Merton Street, Central Avenue and Point Cook Road, turning right into Dunnings Road to Hacketts Road and then to Sneydes Road, Hoppers Lane and terminating at Hoppers Crossing Station. Trains on the Werribee line can be boarded at Williams Landing, Aircraft, Laverton and Hoppers Crossing. The Metro website provides timetable and other details. Buses from Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre run directly to Williams Landing (Route #497) and Laverton (Route #496) Stations to connect with trains.
The railway station at Williams Landing (off Palmers Road) features an island platform accessible by stairs, lifts and ramps, a bus terminal and a taxi rank, a park-and-ride facility with approximately 500 car spaces, and drop-off zones, a pedestrian footbridge across the Princes Freeway and facilities for cyclists.
